Description: This dark and thrilling adventure, with an unforgettable heroine, will captivate fans of steampunk, fantasy, and romance. On her 18th birthday, Lena Mattacascar decides to search for her father, who disappeared into the northern wilderness of Scree when Lena was young. Scree is inhabited by Peculiars, people whose unusual characteristics make them unacceptable to modern society. Lena wonders if her father is the source of her own extraordinary characteristics and if she, too, is Peculiar. On the train she meets a young librarian, Jimson Quiggley, who is traveling to a town on the edge of Scree to work in the home and library of the inventor Mr. Beasley. The train is stopped by men being chased by the handsome young marshal Thomas Saltre. When Saltre learns who Lena’s father is, he convinces her to spy on Mr. Beasley and the strange folk who disappear into his home, Zephyr House. A daring escape in an aerocopter leads Lena into the wilds of Scree to confront her deepest fears.

Some lucky reviewers have already read this book as an ARC and have written up their reviews. There are both reviews that rave about The Peculiars and reviews that hate it. I guess we'll have to find out May 1st. Until then, I'll have to be satisfied with gazing at the cover.
What are you guys waiting to read?

I've read this one. It was pretty good! I agree about the cover; it's very eye catching. I always judge books by their covers!
Haha me too! I tell myself not too, but I really can't help it. And I'm glad to see that you liked it, can't wait to read it!
i recieved this book from net galley I haven't read it yet but I picked it for the same reason I loved the cover
Lucky! I just got a Net Gallery account but I haven't tried requesting any books yet. Not sure if I have enough followers, but might as well give it a go.
And you'll have to let me know if it's good, I sure hope it is!
I have about the same amount of followers as you, Linny, and I started requesting books from NetGalley with way fewer. I've had 12 requests approved and only 5 declined. It's worth a shot!
Wow, okay I'll definitely give it a shot then. Thanks for the heads up Julie! Now the hard part: deciding what to request. So exciting! :)
Wow the cover is really beautiful and luring hehe. This book is definitely an eye catcher and makes you want to open up the book and just start reading out of curiousity:) But the synopsis does sound pretty interesting like you said! Might also give it a go :) Love your reviews Linny!

It really is a lovely cover. If you do read it soon you'll have to let me know how you like it.
And thank you very much, I'm glad you like them! :)
I got this book from Negalley and I loved it Linny :) Don't let the how many followers you have scare you.<3
Glad to hear you loved it Debbie! And thank you, after Julie's comment yesterday I went straight to NetGallery and requested it. Haven't heard back yet though, wish me luck! :)
Thanks for stopping by my blog :-) Judging by your reviews I really think you'll like it. If not, I owe you one, lol ;-)
No problem Mollie! :) And I think I'll most likely end up liking it too, I'm a sucker for all that paranormal/fantasy stuff. If I don't like it, I'll let you off the hook just this once, haha. ;)
Linny, thank you for stopping by my blog and commenting on one of my reviews. I definitely agree with the others that you should try to request ARC's from Netgalley on a regular basis. The more your reputation grows and you actually review the ARC's you are approved for, the more you will find that publishers will open up their books to you.
Have a safe and happy Easter.
No problem Shelley, you have a very nice blog there! :) And thank you for the advice, I will definitely try to get some books from NetGallery and review them. Keep your fingers crossed for me! ;)
Hi Linny, thanks for stopping by blog. I love this cover, too and it's on my TBR list.Hope you can read it soon.
Happy week!
No problem Lis! And thank you, I hope you get a chance to read it too! :)
