Description:  The Hunger Games trilogy takes place in a dystopian North America after our society’s downfall, where the powerful and oppressive Capitol now reigns. For their own entertainment, every year the Capitol picks 24 tributes at random, two from each district, to battle it out in their notorious Hunger Games until there is only one tribute left standing.

In District 12, seventeen year old Katniss Everdeen is fighting both starvation and the cruel Capitol to keep herself and her family alive. When her younger sister is chosen as one of the tributes to play in the Hunger Games, she has no choice but to volunteer herself to go in her sister's place. The Hunger Games tells the story of Katniss' battle to survive the Games and eventually, to fight against the Capitol itself.
